when we are toddlers, we behave like kids, wailing to get our parents' attentions.

as we grow older, we detest our parents' attention, often wanting to break out of it

then we have kids, and we willingly give them our attention, and they demanding it

then as the kids grow older, we as parents start to seek attention from our kids

then we start behaving in an almost childish-like manner, to seek attention from our kids.
